Everyone has got a baggage!

Yes don't think you are the only one in the world who is getting crushed under the burden of your own baggage! Everyone out there has got some form of baggage. Be it a family matter or relationship baggage; a past incident or a future risk; an emotional issue or a financial issue. Some or the other form - everyone is carrying one big bag.

Its not whether yours is heavier than others or lighter. Its about how you handle your baggage. With a smile on your lips or with a frown in your brow.
Remember its the way you accept the life and fight against all the odds. And not about how one succumbs to a situation.

Yes at times its not easy to fight all by yourself and it might be worth sharing it with someone and getting a hand in carrying your baggage. Dont be shy in asking for a hand. Trick is to unpack your baggage sooner than later and deal with it.

PS: Inspired to write this post by a quote in one of my favourite TV shows: How I met your mother!

Diwali Party

Last weekend, S and I hosted Diwali party for all of our friends. I took friday off from work and cooked for 16 people. I have cooked for such a big gathering couple times before but hosting a party was all together a new experience. I had been planning the party for more than a month. Starting with sending evite, booking the club house, deciding the games, buying the gifts, deciding the menu and so on... And when the day arrived we were all set, with club house lit with candles, home made food, bollywood music, games, etc. We started partying around 6:30 and it went on till 5 in morning! Well you must be thinking what did we do for that long.. Well here is what we ended up doing all night. We started off with some drinks and snacks and catching up with everyone. And then we played a couples game where husband is tested on his knowledge about his wife's likings.. We then moved on to a card/spoon game. We played musical chairs and then had dinner. After dinner it was time for some bollywood numbers. And then Bingo and desserts. After that we wrapped up everything in the club house and some of our friends left. Rest continued the party spirit and we moved to our home and started poker session at 2 in morning which finally ended at 5. All of our friends called us on Sunday and thanked us again for throwing a wonderful party. I was so happy that everyone had fun!

PS: My camera decided to stop working and so no pics along with this post. Will add pics to this post as soon as I recieve the pics from my friend.

Its Saturday and Halloween is right around the corner!

After a long time, getting a day to laze around at home. Life has been crazy this year. Either we are partying over the weekend with friends or travelling or we have guests over at our place. This is the first Saturday after a long time that S and I are just relaxing doing nothing. I am loving the feeling. Next few weekends up til the end of the year are already planned and don't see a single weekend to just sit around and laze. That's why cherishing the beautiful sunny Saturday until it is dusk and we are off to zombie paint ball maze with friends for Halloween celebrations.

Summer is over and so are the travels!

Yes you must be thinking how can I say that summer is over in California! Well but if you are a Californian, then yes Summer is gone! :)

Not as eventful as 2009 travel spree I would say, yet quite a lot of travels this year. We started our travels this summer by attending a close friend's wedding in DC. Followed by my long awaited visit to India after 2 years. I came back and we went to Santa Barbara for my birthday weekend. Another weekend in Malibu. Followed by American Independence day in San Francisco. The short weekend getaways were not good enough break from my crazy busy schedule at work - so we decided to go to Kauai for a week. It was amazing break - doing nothing but just sitting by the sea and reading. And the last travel to top it all was a week in east coast to attend a close friend's wedding and socializing with all school buddies after ages.

Now starts the long weekend nights with friends playing cards, board games, poker. And soon it will be ski season... :) Looking forward to it.

Work has been Crazy! But I love it!

So I know I said I am back but I was actually not back!! Well work is keeping me so busy that I hardly find time to blog. I have been working long hours and working over the weekends. Well but I dont mind since I love my job.

How many of you out there love your job? I know there is a stage that most of the people reach in their professional life - where they are just doing something for the heck of it. I had reached that stage couple years back and I wanted to get out of the IT field. And then I got an excuse of leaving the job because I was getting married and relocating. After relocating I went into desperate mode of finding new job and something that I would love to do. I got job again in same technical field and it was not something that I wanted to do. I got another opportunity of relocating and this time finding something of my real interest. So last year I started interviewing and started turning down some of the offers because I thought this is not something that will keep me going.

And then one day I ended up interviewing with my current company. I was not exactly sure of what job would be like, but it was definitely not the traditional jobs that I had been doing so far. It sounded challenging and very interesting. I took up the offer, and here I am after 1 and half years blogging about it - how I love my job!! :)

PS: I started this post while sitting in the WAR room over the weekend at work! ;-)

It will never be same again!

It started just like any other normal day.

Birds flew chirping away..
Sun shined through the clouds...
Due drops settled on the leaves....
Slow breeze rushed through the trees.....
Flowers bloomed and attracted the butterflies......

Yes everything was normal like any other day. Only difference was it didnt end the way it always used to. It has never been the same normal day ever since. It will never be.

I am back!!

Well well well - Yes I know I had totally disappeared from the face of this earth. Its been quite sometime since I got a chance to click the "New Post" button! There has been lots going on in my life, that I hardly get a chance to blog.

Its past mid year 2011 and I have been missing for an entire year now.. Last 10 months have been crazy with the job. Like its not keeping me stressed enough, I still die to be a good hostess to my friends over the weekends. Try to meet new people. Yes I work for like 55-60 hours a week and still manage to entertain guests/friends/family friends over the weekends. I try to get away for a weekend whenever possible. While trying to do all this, I have forgotten the things that used to make me happy, people who used to make me happy. May be I have changed.. and I dont like the new me.. I dont think its just me.. I think people around me have also changed.. Is it just my imagination or is it true.. Yeah everyone changes.. dont know for good or for bad. Time will tell..
